2017 Mason Track Club Information

WHAT: Mason Track Club is a local track & field club for athletes interested in learning about the sport, participating in area track meets, and having fun!

WHO: Athletes of all levels from ages 7-12.  (Beginners welcome!)

Youth Age Divisions (per USATF):

  • 8 & Under, Year of Birth: 2009+*
  • 9-10, Year of Birth: 2007-2008
  • 11-12, Year of Birth: 2005-2006

* Per USATF Athletes must be at least seven (7) years of age on December 31 of the current year to compete at the meets. We will allow students who will turn 13 years old during the program to participate, but they must be no higher than 6th grade with no middle school track experience.

WHERE: Mason Atrium Stadium

WHEN: Practices are 6:00-7:15 pm on Tuesdays/Thursdays (see schedule below).

  • 1st Practice will be Tuesday, May 16, 2017 @ 5:45pm for a brief parent/ athlete meeting
  • Last event will be Thursday, June 22, 2017

COST: $100

(Club Fees Cover: participation, team t-shirt, meet entry fees, club equipment, ribbons/awards, end of season party, miscellaneous snacks and treats, administrative costs)

Registration is online only via www.runmason.com (under the 2017 Mason Track Club tab) starting Monday April 24, 2017.

  • Priority Registration for returning club members begins Monday April 17, 2017 (a link will be emailed to returning members).
  • Open Registration for any/all participants begins Monday April 24, 2017 (the registration link will be posted online under the "2017 Mason Track Club" tab above).

Payment is not online. Payment and proof of age (photo of child's birth certificate) will be collected May 11-- drop in between the hours of 5:00 and 6:30 pm --at Mason Middle School Arena Lobby. Registered families will receive an email with the details. No walk-up registrations will be accepted at this meeting.

All practices will be 6:00-7:15 pm.

Weekday meets generally start @ 6:00 pm. Please arrive at meets by 5:45 pm.

** We will not practice if it is pouring rain and/or thunder or lightning is present.

  • Thursday May 11 - Mandatory--Pay Fees and meet the Coaches (drop in between 5:00 and 6:30, Mason Middle School Arena Lobby ) *This meeting is for online registered participants only. No walk-ups or additional registrations will be possible.*
  • Tuesday, May 16 - First practice (5:45 for brief parent meeting and coach introductions)
  • Thursday May 18 - practice
  • Tuesday May 23 - practice
  • Thursday May 25 - practice
  • Tuesday May 30 - NO PRACTICE
  • Thursday June 1 - practice
  • Tuesday June 6 - practice (NO practice June 5)
  • Thursday June 8 - Home Track Meet at Mason, 6:00 pm
  • Tuesday June 13 - practice 
  • Thursday June 15 - Track Meet at Washington Courthouse 
  • Tuesday June 20 - last practice--followed by pizza for kids, guest speaker, awards
  • Thursday June 22 - Track Meet at Lebanon 

Parent Volunteers:  We will need Parent volunteers to help time, work field events, and concessions when we host our meet at Mason High School. We will email with details. 

Attendance Policy: This club is designed to have kids learn about and enjoy the sport of track & field. We hope participants will be able to attend all of our evnts, but we understand that participants might need to miss the occasional event for another sport, vacation, appointment, etc. This is not a problem.

Optional USATF MEETS:  These are optional meets and competitions that some of our athletes might wish to consider for an extra challenge.  We do NOT go to these meets as part of our club.  For more information please contact them directly. You will need a UASTF membership card to participate in these meets.

Optional USATF Membership: Memberships are $20.00 per year for youth athletes.  The membership provides a secondary insurance policy in the case of an injury or accident.  If a youth athlete wants to compete in the Junior Olympic/USATF Regional meets during the summer, those require a USATF Membership.
